DIY: BOHO FEATHER EARRINGS

So, today i went out on a limb and did a "new" thing, i made some feather earrings! I finally decided to make my own because i have a bag full of feathers at home already, and i just needed to buy the other jewelery supplies...So off to Hobby Lobby i went to get them today...But let me tell you, making them was not a simple process what-so-ever. I have so much superglue stuck to my fingers right now, its driving me crazy! But i think it was well worth it! They turned out pretty cute. Hopefully you do better than i did with the process in making them :)

Supplies:
Feathers (assorted works better, with different sizes and colors)
Plain Wire Earrings
Clamps with a ring on the end ("plated cord crimps")
String
Superglue
Needle Nose Plyers

1. Pick out 3 or 4 feathers in two different bundles for each of the earrings.
2. Kind of layer them on top of each other starting with the longest feather in the back.
3. Put a dab of superglue on the ends of the feathers and wrap a thin piece of string around that to make them stick together and stay tight.
4. Place the clamp over where you superglued the ends, and using the needle nose plyers-crimp them all together so they are tight and secured.
5. Your clamps should have a little ring on the end so you can hang it on the earring, so once you are done with everything just attach it to the earring and repeat all of these steps to make the other one!

I hope this tutorial is helpful in explaining how i made the earrings!
I got all of my supplies from Hobby Lobby, but im sure you could find them at any craft store with jewelery supplies & feathers.

Happy crafting :)

  1. Good to know about the jewelery product, and also the information and the facts about it is also good to read.
